Maxheim Photography, also known as Paula Maxheim Photography, has served Iowa and the surrounding states for over 80 years as a full service studio. W.J. Maxheim became a photographer as he served in the US Navy. On the homefront, Velma Maxheim owned and operated a photographic studio in Ames, Iowa. When W.J. returned from his service commitment, the couple opened a studio in Des Moines, Iowa. They continued to operate the studio as a couple until 1985 when they sold the business to their daughter. Today, Paula Maxheim continues to own and operate the studio.
Maxheim Photography has become a leader in the field of photography. Their full photography services include weddings, portraits, seniors, executive portraits, photographic restoration, special events, pets, photo art, and babies and children. We also offer group and private one-on-one tutoring sessions in basic photography.
Maxheim Photography also feels it important to give back to the community--"Those who can-do--Those who want to do more--volunteer." One of the most rewarding endeavors is bereavement photography (photography of fetal demises) to aid families in healing when they have lost a child at birth.
Maxheim is continually striving to bring their customers the highest quality in photographic creativity and images that will preserve memories for generations.
